Get Discussions
Findings of the ECB Simulation Conference
The ECB Simulation Conference for university students consistently explores the key contemporary economic issues of the Eurozone. Since 2020, through the Get Discussions initiative, we have consistently communicated the views, concerns, and ideas of the youth through the Conference, helping extend its dialogue and its findings to a broader audience.
Having the open dialogue as a core pillar of our operation, we systematically highlight participants’ perspectives as clear evidence that young people can express their views within a structured process and make a meaningful contribution, even on complex issues.
The findings presented in the Get Discussions are based on the discussions developed during each edition of the Conference.
The 9th ECB Simulation Conference for university students hosted 143 young participants, primarily undergraduate students with backgrounds in economics, law, and international relations. The main sessions were held from November 21 to November 24, 2026.
The topics discussed at the 9th ECB Simulation Conference for university students included:
Economic Policy: The interaction between monetary and fiscal policy, the risks of fragmentation, and the limits of policy effectiveness in a persistent environment of overlapping crises (permacrisis).
Climate Change & Resilience: The transition towards a sustainable financial system and the role of the European Central Bank in supporting climate and environmental objectives.
Digital Euro: Implications for payments, the banking sector, and financial stability in the context of an evolving digital monetary landscape.
