Economic Definitions Index
The Economic Definitions Index [EDI] is the main tool of Get Involved in promoting financial education to a broad audience. EDI is a contemporary index that explains 138 economic definitions and terms from 9 thematic sections, which cover several “textures” of economic science. Developed with the goal of accessibility, the EDI is suitable for individuals regardless of their academic or scientific background.
The 9 topics covered in the updated edition of the Index of Economic Terms are as follows: General Economic Terms, Fiscal Policy, Monetary Policy, Economic framework of the EU and the ECB, Money, and Currency, Types of Markets and Securities, Financial Reporting, Structure, Organization and Operations of Enterprises and Types of Companies.
With the vital and honorary cooperation of the Hellenic Bank Association is set to publish two versions of the existing Economic Definitions Index. The first is an extensive review of economic definitions, containing 79 definitions that have been revised and updated. The second version includes 25 selected definitions in a simplified format as it will be addressed to secondary education students.
Since the summer of 2023, we have launched the innovative project “Economic Definition of the Week”, which aims to promote economic literacy and to help us better understand the knowledge deficiencies of our audience. Using our social media platforms, we ask on a weekly basis to our audience a knowledge question that derives from the EDI, and later we offer the definition that this question was developed.
