Bank of Greece supported the 9th ECB Simulation Conference for university students

We would like to sincerely thank the Bank of Greece for supporting the 9th ECB Simulation Conference for university students as a Hosting Partner!

The Bank of Greece’s continuous support of the Conference since 2019 is a great honor for Get Involved. Its long-standing role in promoting economic and financial education is a true source of inspiration for our team.
By continuing its hands-on support for Get Involved’s initiatives, the Bank of Greece actively contributed to the successful delivery of the 9th ECB Simulation Conference by hosting the Training Day at its Head Office.

Participants of the 9th ECB Simulation Conference also had the opportunity to visit the Bank of Greece Museum on Thursday, November 20, 2025, gaining deeper insight into the responsibilities, role, and functions of the Bank of Greece.

The main topics explored during the Conference were:

  • Economic Policy: The interaction between monetary and fiscal policy, the risks of fragmentation, and the limits of policy effectiveness in a constant environment of overlapping crises (permacrisis).

  • Climate Change & Resilience: The transition toward a sustainable financial system and the role of the ECB.

  • Digital Euro: Its impact on payments, the banking sector, and financial stability.

The Bank of Greece was represented by Mr. Christos Hadjiemmanuil, Professor at the University of Piraeus, Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics, and Member of the Monetary Policy Council of the Bank of Greece, as well as by Ms. Ifigeneia Skotida, Deputy Director at the Directorate of Economic Analysis and Research of the Bank of Greece.
