Foititika Nea: 9th ECB Simulation Conference
For the ninth consecutive year, Get Involved, a youth-led non-profit organization, is organizing the 9th ECB Simulation Conference — an initiative designed for university students from across Greece to deepen their understanding of key issues shaping the euro area, such as monetary policy, sustainability, and the digital euro.
The annual conference will take place from November 21 to 24, hosted at the Bank of Greece (on November 21) and the Athens University of Economics and Business (on November 22–24).
Conference Structure
The opening day, the Training Day, features keynote speeches by distinguished representatives from institutions, academia, and the private sector, offering participants valuable insights into the workings of the European economy.
During the Simulation Days (the second and third days), students step into the role of Central Bankers, representing Eurozone member states. Through structured debates and negotiations based on a predefined agenda, they are challenged to design and implement policies for the euro area.
The conference concludes with the Experience Day, which focuses on hands-on learning and career development. Participants attend workshops and HR sessions, gaining practical knowledge and engaging directly with professionals from the job market to build essential career skills.
Additionally, they take part in a roundtable discussion on topics such as financial literacy and personal financial behavior, contributing to the final outcomes and conclusions of the conference.
Why Participate?
The ECB Simulation Conference offers a unique educational experience for students from diverse academic backgrounds, providing:
- Experiential learning through the simulation of institutional decision-making processes
- Collaboration in a multidisciplinary environment
- Development of analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Familiarity with the European Central Bank’s operations and the formulation of European monetary policy
Participation in the conference significantly enhances students’ academic and professional profiles by bridging theory and real-world policy practice.
