ESG & Sustainability Youth Perspectives II

For a second consecutive year, Get Involved releases the survey “ESG & Sustainability Youth Perspectives II”, aiming to capture the views of young people on ESG and Sustainability issues. The survey gathered responses from 403 residents of Greece, primarily university students, aged 18 to 35, and was conducted between December 2024 and April 2025 through an anonymous online questionnaire.

A key finding of the study is the strong demand among young people for enhanced ESG and Sustainability education within Greek universities. More than two out of three respondents believe that universities do not currently provide adequate information on these topics. At the same time, nearly 92% stated that universities should play an active role in this area. Respondents emphasized the integration of relevant courses into academic curricula and the organization of educational seminars to improve their understanding of ESG and Sustainability. The need for collaboration with external stakeholders, such as businesses and research centers, also emerged as a critical factor.

The survey also revealed a strong preference among youth for working in or purchasing from companies that are known for their responsible sustainability practices. A significant portion of respondents expressed willingness to pay a higher price for products that have a positive environmental and social footprint.

Regarding institutions, young people appear skeptical about the likelihood of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 or climate neutrality in Europe by 2050. Nevertheless, they show greater trust in European-level initiatives compared to national efforts.

Get Involved is committed to using the insights from this study to strengthen dialogue between youth and key stakeholders, promoting initiatives that address the new generation’s need for accessible, meaningful education on ESG and Sustainability.
