Agenda Training Day – 8th European Central Bank Simulation Conference for Students
For the eighth consecutive year, we are organizing the first pan-European European Central Bank Simulation Conference for students.
The conference aims to provide interactive education and familiarize students of all levels with contemporary economic issues of the Eurozone.
This year’s conference will take place in Athens, from November 22 to 25, 2024, at the premises of the Bank of Greece (November 22), the Athens University of Economics and Business (November 23-24), and the Small Stock Exchange of the National Bank of Greece (November 24).
The innovative four-day educational conference gives students the opportunity to engage, on the first day (Training Day), with distinguished academics, representatives from the financial system, and institutions, who share their experiences and knowledge through interactive discussions. Over the next three days, participants, students from different academic backgrounds, combine the knowledge gained from the Training Day and pre-conference preparation (which includes study materials and preparatory calls) to develop final conclusions. This highlights that the involvement of young people in the discussion and formation of our future agenda is not only feasible but also essential for the effective management of modern social and economic challenges.
At the institutional level, the conference has been supported by the Bank of Greece since 2019. This year, it is particularly significant that the European Central Bank will be represented for the third time, as well as the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) for the first time, which underscores the recognition of the conference and the efforts of Get Involved in promoting financial literacy at the European institutional level. Additionally, for the second consecutive year, the Ministry of National Economy and Finance will be represented at the conference by its Minister, Mr. Kostis Hatzidakis.
The organization of the Conference serves as tangible proof of our commitment to promoting financial literacy, as well as enhancing experiential learning and active youth participation. The support we receive from institutional bodies, the academic community, the market, and the active involvement of students is a great honor for us and a decisive factor in continuing our efforts.
