Career Office (DUTH) : Conduction of the 8th ECB Simulation Conference for university students
The 8th European Central Bank Simulation Conference for students, organised annually by Get Involved, will take place from 22 to 25 November 2024. The annual conference will take place in person in Athens. The first day of the Conference (22.11) will be held at the Bank of Greece, the next two days (23/24.11) at the Troy Building of the Athens University of Economics and Business and the last day at Old (Small) Stock Exchange (25.11). The participants, through the Conference’s activities, acquire and apply their economic knowledge on issues of European interest, embrace the way of negotiation at transnational level and understand how the European Union operates in monetary policy issues. At the same time, they have the opportunity to interact and exchange views with renowned academics, leading representatives of institutions and the financial system, as well as the chance to meet students from different academic disciplines, thus widening their circle of contacts. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance and will have the opportunity to obtain a certificate of knowledge, supported by Linkedin and other popular platforms. The topics that will form the agenda of this year’s conference are as follows: Monetary policy: Interaction with fiscal policy, the risk of fragmentation and efficiency challenges in the permacrisis environment. Climate change and the transformation of the financial system in the ESG field.The digital euro: Implications for the payments landscape and financial stability. The European Central Bank Simulation Conference has been supported by, among others, the Bank of Greece, the Hellenic Banking Association and the MSc in International Negotiations of the Athens University of Economics and Business Administration.
